The Importance of the United States Constitution
How important is the United States Constitution to you?
At present, all too many us have ignored the Bush/Cheney administration’s total disregard for our Constitution. Over the last seven and a half years, puppet Bush has enabled his political baby sitter to ignore laws and create new ones without being challenged until now.
On PBS’s Bill Moyers’ Journal last 13 July, Constitutional scholar Bruce Fein asked, “What is the future of the Presidency?” Then, answering his own question, he said that if harm has been done to the presidency now and it is not challenged now, that attitude will be enough for other presidencies to usurp.
The Constitution is more important than any party or, any Congress. Impeachment does not create a constitutional crisis. Impeachment is a remedy for a consitutional crisis.
A Constitutional crisis will continue as long as the mindless Bush takes his cues from the master puppeteer and refuses to allow certain members of his administration to answer questions before the Congress. He and Cheney have put themselves above the law they swore to uphold when they took their respective oaths of office.
What do you want to do about it? What should we do about it?
Urge everyone on our individual mailing lists to write their Congressional representatives today, not tomorrow, and DEMAND that impeachment proceedings begin. Include your name, address, town and phone number. Anonymous communications and/or, lists of names without further identification will be dismissed.
The Congress needs to hear from you and me.
